Ecocentro of Puerto Madryn location

If you are going to visit the Ecocentro of Puerto Madryn, you should know that it is located on the south side of the city’s coast, passing the monument to the Tehuelche Indian.

The particularity of the Ecocentro is that it was built on a cliff, from where you have an impressive view of the immensity of the sea. With almost 2,000 m2, the building has a modern style with large windows overlooking the ocean.

On the outside, there is a large skeleton of a southern right whale, which was stranded on the beach where Ecocentro is located. You have to stand right next to it to contemplate the large size of these cetaceans that come to Puerto Madryn year after year.

What will you see if you visit the Ecocentro in Puerto Madryn

The Ecocentro is a mixture of a cultural, interpretation and care center of the marine fauna that inhabits the Patagonian sea.

It has several exhibition halls, one exclusive to the southern right whale. The main room tells, through drawings and data, about the Patagonian ecosystem. Everything points to becoming aware of the importance of taking care of the environment.

The area between the floors is reserved for exhibitions of paintings, photographs and sculptures. Exhibitions are temporary.

Undoubtedly, one of the most visited places by tourists is the Ecocentro viewpoint, which is located at the top of the tower. The tower rises above the structure of the building and was built in the shape of a lighthouse, with large windows. From here, you can contemplate the entire Patagonian sea surroundings.

Travel tip: Go at sunset, its views are incredible!
